Assumption High School has offered a four-year program of overnight retreats for more than 25 years. Held predominantly at the Mount Saint Francis Retreat Center in southern Indiana, approximately 95% of students consistently choose to participate in this optional program. While on retreat, which is a two-day experience for underclasswomen and typically a four-day experience for seniors, students listen to meaningful talks by student, graduate and faculty leaders, participate in large and small group activities, share meals and unite in prayer.
Retreat Teams
Close to 100 seniors develop leadership skills on freshman and sophomore retreats as small group leaders and presenters. Alumnae return to lead junior and senior retreats. Over 50 Assumption faculty and staff willingly answer the call to lead retreat each year. Parish priests are also invited to be part of the senior retreat for sacramental experiences.
Financial Assistance
Any student who is unable to pay the retreat fee should see Judy Ribar, retreat director or Gloria Thornburg, campus minister about financial assistance. Payment plans and scholarships are available.
